      Who learns here

One school, four kinds of learner.

A Primary 5 pupil and a bank manager need the same French. They simply cannot sit in the same room at the same hour. Learning at your own pace is what lets one school teach both properly.

      PrimaryAges 6 to 11

Start while the ear is still soft

Sounds, greetings, colours and numbers, through pictures and short recordings. Plenty of listening, no writing pressure, no exam looming.

      JHSJunior high

Keep up with the French they already meet at school

The same ground as the classroom, but repeated as often as they need it, with the speaking practice a full class of forty cannot give anyone.

      SHSSenior high

Exam French, and the nerve to say it out loud

Structured revision with drills that mark themselves, plus recorded speaking a tutor listens to and replies on. Marks matter, but so does being understood.

      At workProfessionals and teams

French for the office, and for the market next door

Meetings, clients and colleagues, on a schedule that survives a working week. Study at 6am or at 11pm; the course does not mind either way.

      What a unit looks like

Ten units. Each one built the same way.

You always know what comes next, because every unit follows the same seven steps. Work through them in order, at whatever pace your week allows.

Objectifs What you will be able to do

A short list, in plain English, of what you will be able to say and understand by the end of the unit.

      Leçon The lesson

Your CBLH tutor’s material, with the audio built in so you hear every phrase spoken before you try it.

      Écoute Listening

Short recordings with questions along the way. Replay any of it as often as you want.

      Vocabulaire Vocabulary drills

Cards and matching exercises that mark themselves. Come back to them whenever a word slips.

      Exercices Practice

Fill the gaps, pick the right word, spot the mistake. You see what you got wrong straight away.

      Prononciation Speaking

Record yourself in the browser and send it. Your tutor listens and replies. You carry on while you wait.

Contrôle GateThe check that opens the next unit

Score 80% and the next unit opens. Retake it as many times as you need. The questions change each time.

      How self-paced actually works here

No class times. No deadlines. No falling behind.

      Mastery, not attendance

The next unit opens when you are ready for it

Not when the calendar says so. Score 80% on the check and Unit 2 unlocks. Take the check as many times as you like, and you get different questions each time.

      Speaking

      Your recording never blocks you

Submit your pronunciation and keep going immediately. Your tutor’s feedback arrives afterwards. Waiting for marking is the fastest way to lose a beginner, so we removed it.

      Proof

      A certificate anyone can check

Finish all ten units and your certificate carries a code. An employer or a school can verify it themselves, without calling us.

      When you want a person

Book a tutor for one hour

Self-paced does not mean alone. Pick an open slot with a CBLH tutor whenever you want to practise with someone live.
